To all of the participants, sponsors, and fellow volunteers, As I look back on every different aspect of the inaugural Breathe Easy Ride - Bay Area event this last Sunday, my heart wells with gratefulness for the sacrifices made by so many people in order to create such a successful event. First and foremost, I want to thank everybody who participated in the ride. Whether you personally knew somebody with Cystic Fibrosis before this event, or you simply recognized an opportunity to help defeat a disease which has mercilessly taken the lives of countless men, women, and especially children, your financial support is a crucial aspect in the process of finding a cure. Unfortunately I was too busy to spend a good amount of time getting to know many of you during the event. We’ve plenty of great riding weather ahead of us and I’d love to see you out there. I hope that you can find the time to send me any comments or suggestions you have concerning the ride. My e-mail address is included at the bottom. Second of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the various companies that donated so many great items to be raffled off. I hope that everyone who took part in the ride thinks of you as their primary goods providers when meeting their future needs. I knew that every business that helped out provides high quality services, whether that is motorcycle parts and accessories, food, or a specific need. Now we also know that the people who make up each of your companies are as fine as the products they sell. At last, an unbelievable amount of credit must be given to those who have helped me to grow a simple idea into an event considered to be successful by everybody involved; starting with Broc Glover, who took it upon himself to take advantage of his hard earned prestigious standing in the motorcycle community. His introducing me to a few of his friends within the industry, who had the heart and brains to help in every way, was crucial. Thank you, guys. In addition, appreciation is bestowed to my own family and friends for their emotional and physical support. Finally, I want to thank the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for giving me all the freedom I ever wanted while diligently being there to help me whenever needed. As I consider the hearts of those who came together so readily, so enthusiastically, so joyfully, to make this event happen, the compassion bestowed brings tears to my eyes. I wish I could describe the level of appreciation that I will continue to have for each and every one of you. It will motivate me to continue to work hard throughout the next twelve months in order to create an event that will make this year’s pale in comparison. As successful as we were, that will not be an easy task. So if you volunteered this year, renew your pledge. If you were a ride participant, make the commitment now to show up next year with a friend. And if you represent a company that supported the ride through sponsorship, I look forward to your help and generosity in the many years to come.
God bless, Brett M. Barker

Hi Broc,

Brett I was one of the guy’s that Carl Arnett brought along for the ride. I just wanted to let you know that I had a great time. For me that was the longest ride I’ve been on with that many other riders. I’ve always wanted to ride my motorcycle across the GG Bridge and I’m glad I have this memorable ride to think of when I look back at it. The end event was great and I thought the raffle was perfect not only because I won a couple items but it was for a worthy cause. I look forward to next year’s ride and hope to make it. Thanks again for a good time. Randy J. Monges
